GMK gate valve that opens by lifting a round or rectangular gate/wedge out of the path of the fluid. The distinct feature of a gate valve is the sealing surfaces between the gate and seats are planar. The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel. Typical gate valves should never be used for regulating flow, unless they are specifically designed for that purpose.   • The first part of this three part auto Air Conditioner repair video shows a 2001 Mercury Sable with noise coming from the engine compartment.

    Guro Joe walks you through this process of effectively fixing a problem that may costs several hundred to over a thousand dollars if it was done through a regular automobile repair shop facility.

    In this particular case the AC compressor bearing was the problem which can be purchased from as low as fourteen dollars. Typically the repair shop would typically want to replace the whole compressor unit with either a new one or a rebuilt /used item.

    Then there may be the additional costs of a filter drier, orifice, refrigerant and labor if the suction and liquid lines of an ac system are disturbed. Sometimes these replacement compressors may not be the right fit and could produce nagging problems throughout its entire life, that is if it doesn’t leak refrigerant and lose its cooling capacity by the following year.

    After the battery cable is removed, from diagnosis to serpentine belt removal, and removal of certain components such as the fans, radiator coolant hoses, and other items in the way to gain access to the ac compressor is shown. Then the compressor is unbolted, tilted and supported, where the ac clutch is then removed prior to removing the pulley that contains the worn bearing to be replaced.

    Other steps are sequentially shown that elaborate on this particular type of repair.
