GMK Resilient seat gate valve is mostly used for water industry, especially for drinking water. If you have air going back into the pool through the returns here are some troubleshooting tips to help.
1. Understand the suction side and return side of your pool system
2. Be sure the pump lid fits securely and is seated correctly. Check the o-ring and replace if torn or worn out. Use Magic Lube on the o-ring for a good seal.
3. Be sure the surface area on the pump pot is clean
4. Check the pump basket and replace if broken
5. Check the impeller. It should spin freely. Use a screwdriver to spin it and remove any leaves or debris.
6. Check the union at the front and on top of the pump housing. Replace the o-ring if torn. Be sure to not over-tighten the nut/collar.
7. Jandy valve not seated correctly or is worn
8. Remove the valve and check the 90s for debris and remove using a screwdrive, water bladder, or plumber’s snake
9. Water level is to be 1/3 – 1/2 up from the bottom of the skimmer
10. Skimmer weir should move freely
11. Skimmer basket is clean
12. If you suspect a clog in the skimmer line you can use a water bladder
13. Last is to call in a leak detection company. You may have a suction side leak.
